The Experience API has the power to turn learning data into organizational intelligence. But for that to happen, you need a method: a systematic approach that integrates experience design with data design, from day one.
The xp² Method Course is the dedicated program for those who want to master the xp² method — an agile 6-phase framework that brings together Learning Arches, Self-Determination Theory, and Business Alignment, all tracked and measured through xAPI.
You won’t just learn how to design learning experiences. You’ll learn how to design them so the data tells exactly the story you intended to build.
Who it’s for
The course is designed for professionals who already have a foundation in xAPI and want to apply it systematically and measurably in real projects.
Ideal participants:
- Learning Experience Designers and L&D professionals
- Instructional Designers looking to move beyond waterfall ADDIE logic
- Training consultants and facilitators
- HR and Digital Learning specialists
- xAPI practitioners managing complex or multi-stakeholder projects
This is the right path for anyone who wants to move past theory, build a coherent tagging system, and demonstrate learning impact with real behavioral data.
Goals
To turn your understanding of xAPI into a complete, measurable, and replicable design method.
By the end of the program, you will be able to:
- Apply the 6 phases of the xp² method to real projects, from discovery to the analytics ecosystem.
- Design a coherent xAPI tagging system that integrates arch-phase, sdt-need, bloom-level, and business-goal.
- Build and manage a Micro-Arch backlog with complete statement design.
- Connect LRS data to business KPIs, demonstrating ROI with behavioral evidence — not surveys.
- Use the three-layer dashboard (Structure, Motivation, Impact) to read and improve experiences in progress.
- Adapt the method to different organizational contexts: flat, hierarchical, distributed.
The program is structured across 9 modules, guiding participants from the introduction to the method through to full analytics system implementation.
00 – Premise Why a method? The problem of design without data — and the problem of data without design. How the xp² method closes this gap.
01 – Introduction to the xp² Method Overview of the 6 phases, 3 layers, and tagging system. The agile and iterative logic. How the method sits relative to ADDIE and SAM.
02 – The Three Core Frameworks Learning Arches (structure), Self-Determination Theory (motivation), Bloom Revised (cognitive vocabulary). How the three layers integrate in xAPI tagging.
03 – Phase 0 · Data Assessment Mapping KPIs, platforms, and data sources. Defining governance and vocabulary strategy. The Data Governance document as an operational output.
04 – Phase 1 · Empathy & Mapping Design Thinking applied to xAPI design. Personas, Journey Maps, and LX Canvas as data architecture. From Empathy Map to Actor identification strategy.
05 – Phase 2 · High Level Architecture Designing the three-scale structure (Macro, Meso, Micro Arch). Using context.contextActivities to nest arches. The Micro-Arch backlog as a project management tool.
06 – Phase 3 · Micro-Design & Tagging The core of the method. Designing Set, Hold, and Land in full detail. The deep tagging system: arch-phase, action-level, sdt-need, bloom-level, business-goal, competency. Decoupling the Verb from pedagogical intent.
07 – Phase 4 · Build & Iterate The two parallel tracks: content quality and telemetry quality. The sprint cycle. The telemetry test checklist. What good failure looks like.
08 – Phase 5 · Analytics Ecosystem The three dashboards: Structure (Learning Arches), Motivation (SDT + Bloom), Impact (LRS ↔ business KPIs). The retrospective loop that feeds back into Phase 0.
09 – Application and Adaptation How to adapt the method to different organizational contexts. Flat vs. hierarchical organizations. How to start small and scale over time. The method as a shared language between designers, developers, and stakeholders.
Each module integrates guided games, quizzes, and downloadable templates to reinforce what you learn by doing.
Delivery & format
- 100% online and asynchronous
- On-demand video lessons and guided activities
- Practical exercises and games to consolidate understanding
Certification
Upon completion, you’ll earn the Open Badge “xp² Method Certified Designer”
The badge certifies your ability to understand xAPI’s logic, read and interpret statements, and navigate the learning data ecosystem with confidence.

The course will be available on October 30, 2026
The participation fee for each individual attendee is €600.
It can be purchased together with the corresponding deck of cards (normally priced at 130 euros) for an even more effective and rewarding learning experience. The cards can also be used as a facilitation tool for co-design sessions.

Pre-launch rates (35% off when bundled with the card deck and 30% off for the course alone) will be valid until October 15, 2026; after that, discounts will still be available for companies and organizations, or for those purchasing three or more seats.
Extra benefits
- Access to the Cartesiani Community of Practice and regular live sessions.
- Access to the xAPI Forge section and all included tools and resources.
- Access to all future updates to the method.
- The opportunity to share your “xAPI journey” and receive feedback from experts.
